38A:11-8. Any officer of the militia charged with the care and responsibility of public property may bring an action in the Superior Court against any person who detains any arm, article of clothing or equipment, or any military supplies, being the property of the United States or of this State. The court may proceed in the action in a summary manner or otherwise, with a jury if a jury be demanded by the defendant. The court may require the defendant to deliver up such property to the plaintiff. L.1963, c.109; amended 1991,c.91,s.369.
