* § 1640-r. Residential parking system in the city of Rye. 1.\nNotwithstanding the provisions of any law to the contrary, the city\ncouncil of the city of Rye may, by adoption of a local law or ordinance,\nprovide for a residential parking permit system and fix and require the\npayment of fees applicable to parking within the area in which such\nparking system is in effect in accordance with the provisions of this\nsection.\n 2. Such residential parking permit system may only be established\nwithin the city of Rye on Mead Place.\n 3. Notwithstanding the foregoing, no permit shall be required on\nstreets or those portions of such streets where the adjacent properties\nare zoned for commercial/retail use.\n 4.
