§ 215. Legislative findings. The legislature hereby finds and declares\nthat the state has a responsibility to insure the safety of public\ntransportation systems. Further, there exists a need for an independent,\ninvestigative and advisory body to examine the causes of accidents on\npublic transportation systems and make recommendations in order to\nprevent the occurrences of accidents and promote the safety of the\npublic. Therefore, this article establishes a public transportation\nsafety board to provide this protection and insure the health and safety\nof the citizens of the state who use public transportation facilities.\n
