Text
If any policeman, his surviving wife, dependent children or
dependent parents are entitled to any pension or benefits under
this article, the policeman, or in the event of his death the
dependent, shall apply for benefits or pension by filing a
complete and concise statement of facts necessary to entitle the
applicant to the benefits or pension. The application shall be
filed with the board upon forms it provides. The board may
investigate each application and determine whether benefits or
pension should be granted. The board may also hear evidence as
to the justice of the application, or require and receive
affidavits as to the truth of the statements made therein. If
the application is refused, the matter may be reviewed by the
district court of the county in which the applicant resides
