Text
(a)The first year of employment of any person in a fire
department is on a trial basis. A trial period of employment
within a police department may be imposed as follows:
(i)For introductory employees, a period of not more
than the first eighteen (18) months of employment;
(ii)For employees promoted, a period of not less
than twelve (12) months.
(b)If the conduct of the introductory or promotional
employee has been satisfactory during the trial period, he may
be regularly employed or promoted, as applicable.
(c)Employees discharged because of a reduction in force
are eligible for reemployment within two (2) years following the
date of their discharge without further examination.
