Only those persons who are seventy-five percent (75%) or more proficient may be certified for employment. A local fire commission may establish a higher required proficiency, in which case only those persons meeting the higher standard shall be certified by the commission for employment. The examination requirements of this section shall not apply to a person meeting the conditions of W.S. 15-5-122(a) if the person is employed by a police department. The examination requirements of this section shall not apply to a person meeting the conditions of W.S. 15-5-122(a) if the person is employed by a fire department.
