24:2-3. The State board may appoint such analysts, chemists, specialists, chief inspectors and other inspectors and employees as may be authorized by law, and the persons thus appointed shall perform such duties as may be assigned to them by the State department. The state board shall fix the salaries of all such officers and employees subject to the provisions of Title 11A of the New Jersey Statutes, Civil Service, except when otherwise provided by statute. Amended 1997, c.416, s.1.
