Text

As used in this chapter:

(1)“Adulterated” shall apply to any livestock product or poultry product under one or more of the following circumstances:
(A)If it contains any poisonous or harmful substance that may render it injurious to health. The product shall not be considered adulterated under this definition if the quantity of the substance in or on the product does not ordinarily render it injurious to health.
(B)If it contains any added poisonous or harmful substance that may, in the judgment of the Secretary, make the product unfit for human food.
(C)If it is a raw agricultural commodity and the commodity contains a pesticide chemical that is unsafe within the meaning of 21 U.S.C. § 346a (tolerances for pesticide residues).
(D)If it contains any food additive that is unsafe within
