§ 102. Power of justices of appellate division in first department to\nappoint special deputy clerks for each part or term of the supreme court\nin the first judicial district. The justices of the appellate division\nof the supreme court in the first department, or a majority of them,\nshall appoint and at pleasure remove, for each part or term of the\nsupreme court in the first judicial district a special deputy clerk of\nthe supreme court, and all necessary assistants to each of such special\ndeputies and fix the salaries thereof. The board of estimate of the city\nof New York is authorized and empowered to provide the means to pay such\nsalaries.\n
