§ 101. Power of justices of appellate division of second department to\nappoint clerical and other personnel of the appellate term. The justices\nof the appellate division of the supreme court in the second department,\nor a majority of them, are authorized to appoint in their discretion,\nand to remove at pleasure, for the appellate term of the supreme court\nin the second department, a chief clerk, one deputy clerk, one assistant\ndeputy clerk, and all necessary other assistants and personnel in said\ncourt, and to prescribe the duties and fix the salaries thereof. Except\nas provided in the state finance law, such salaries and all other\nnecessary expenses of such appellate term, shall be paid by the state\ncomptroller out of moneys appropriated therefor by law.
