§ 48:14-9 — Surveys; entry on lands

New Jersey·Title 48 PUBLIC UTILITIES
When a survey of the locations of the dams of any steam or water power company organized under the laws of this State and the routes and locations of its main canals and raceways, branches and improvements, together with the lands and portions of such rivers or streams necessary for the same, shall be completed and deposited in the office of the Secretary of State, such company may enter upon, take possession of, and use, occupy and possess such lands and premises as authorized by this Title. Every such company may enter upon all lands, whether covered with water or not, for the purposes contemplated by this article, subject to the right of the owners of said lands to full compensation for damages thereto.
