Probation officers may at any time, after approval by the court or chief probation officer, transfer any probationer under their care and supervision to the jurisdiction of any other probation officer. Whenever such transfer is made, the probation officer making the transfer shall send to the probation officer to whose care and supervision the probationer is being transferred, a copy of all the records of such officer as to the offense, criminal record and social history of the probationer. Probation officers may accept under their care and supervision on transfer, any person placed on probation in any other jurisdiction, and shall, from time to time, report to the probation officer from whom the probationer was received under transfer as to the conduct and progress of the probationer.
