(a)As used in this chapter unless otherwise defined:
(i)"Attachment" means the procedure by which a
plaintiff obtains a judicial lien on a defendant's property
prior to judgment;
(ii)"Continuing garnishment" means any procedure for
withholding the earnings of a judgment debtor for successive pay
periods for payment of a judgment debt;
(iii)"Court" means any district court or circuit
court of this state;
(iv)"Defendant" means a person whose property is
being attached, garnished or replevied by a plaintiff and
includes a judgment debtor after entry of judgment;
(v)"Disposable earnings" means that part of an
individual's earnings remaining after the deduction of all
amounts required by law to be withheld;
(vi)"Earnings" or "earnings from personal services"
means compensation paid or pa
