(A)A continuing care retirement community must not be operated or advertised, and a reservation deposit or an entrance fee must not be collected unless the appropriate license is obtained first from the department as provided in this chapter and any regulation promulgated pursuant to it. Unless otherwise specified, all references to a license in this chapter include both a preliminary license and a final license. The department shall establish reasonable licensing fees not to exceed the cost of administering this chapter. Licenses issued under this chapter expire on August thirty-first of each year. Licenses may be issued only for the premises and persons named in the application and are not transferable or assignable.
