§ 26-1-150 — Death of notary.

South Carolina·Title 26 NOTARIES PUBLIC AND ACKNOWLEDGMENTS·Ch. 1 NOTARIES PUBLIC

If a notary dies during the term of commission, the notary's personal representative shall:

(1)notify the Secretary of State of the death in writing; and (2) as soon as reasonably practicable, destroy or deface all notary seals so that they may not be misused.
