§ 1111. Traffic-control signal indications. Whenever traffic is\ncontrolled by traffic-control signals, other than lane direction control\nsignal indications provided in section eleven hundred sixteen,\nexhibiting different colored lights, or colored lighted arrows,\nsuccessively, one at a time or in combination, only the colors green,\nyellow and red shall be used, and said lights shall indicate and apply\nto drivers of vehicles and to pedestrians as follows:\n (a) Green indications:\n 1. Traffic, except pedestrians, facing a steady circular green signal\nmay proceed straight through or turn right or left unless a sign at such\nplace prohibits either such turn.
