Section 3--102. Definitions and Index of Definitions.\n (1) In this Article unless the context otherwise requires\n * (a) "Issue" means the first delivery of an instrument to a\n holder or a remitter.\n * NB Effective until June 3, 2026\n * (a) "Issue" means:\n (i) the first delivery of an instrument to a holder or a\n remitter; or\n (ii) if agreed by the payee, the first transmission by the\n drawer to the payee of an image of an item and information\n derived from the item that enables the depositary bank to collect\n the item by transferring or presenting under federal law an\n electronic check.\n * NB Effective June 3, 2026\n (b) An "order" is a direction to pay and must be more than an\n
