§ 59-e. Deed or release of land so acquired to United States. The\ngovernor may, if requested by any officer or agent of the United States\nduly authorized under the hand and seal of any head of an executive\ndepartment of the government of the United States, execute a deed or\nrelease to the government of the United States of the lands and the\nstructures and waters thereon, described in the survey and map filed in\nthe office of the secretary of state as hereinbefore provided, excepting\nand reserving therefrom an easement for public highway purposes in and\nover the lands acquired for highway purposes pursuant to this article.\nSuch deed or release may be so executed at any time after the commission\nshall have entered upon and taken possession of such lands, structures\nand waters.
