§ 349-dd. Components. 1. The New York state scenic byways system is\ncomprised of the following components:\n (a) Adirondack Trail as designated by section three hundred\nforty-two-b of this chapter;\n (b) Roosevelt-Marcy Memorial Highway as designated by section three\nhundred forty-two-e of this chapter;\n (c) Seaway Trail as designated by section three hundred forty-two-f of\nthis chapter;\n (d) Olympic Trail as designated by section three hundred forty-two-i\nof this chapter;\n (e) Revolutionary Trail as designated by section three hundred\nforty-two-j of this chapter;\n (f) Black River Trail as designated by section three hundred\nforty-two-k of this chapter;\n (g) Military Trail as designated by section three hundred forty-two-l\nof this chapter;\n (h) Central Adirondack Trail as designated by section three hundred\nforty-two-m of this chapter;\n (i) Dude Ranch Trail as designated by section three hundred\nforty-two-n of this chapter;\n (j) Lakes to Locks Passage as designated by section three hundred\nforty-two-tt of this chapter;\n (j-1) Route 90 Scenic Corridor which shall consist of all that portion\nof state route 90 beginning at Montezuma in Cayuga county, traveling\nsouth along Cayuga lake turning east in King Ferry to Homer in Cortland\ncounty.\n (j-3) Upper Delaware byway which shall consist of all that portion of\nthe highway system beginning at the intersection of United States route\nsix and county route fifteen at the southeastern city boundary of the\ncity of Port Jervis, Orange county along United States route six to the\nintersection of United States routes six/two hundred nine and state\nroutes ninety-seven/forty-two and along state routes\nninety-seven/forty-two to the end of the ninety-seven/forty-two overlap\nand continuing along state route ninety-seven westerly and then\nnortherly in Sullivan county to the Delaware/Fremont town line; and all\nthat portion of the highway system along state route ninety-seven\nbeginning at the southeastern boundary of the village of Hancock in\nDelaware county continuing north and then west to its end at state route\nseventeen;\n (j-4) Cayuga Lake byway which shall consist of all that portion of the\nstate highway system beginning at the intersection of state route\neighty-nine and the overlap of state route five and United States route\ntwenty in the town of Tyre, Seneca county, and continuing southerly on\nstate route eighty-nine to the intersection of state route eighty-nine\nand state route ninety-six in the city of Ithaca, Tompkins county, then\ncontinuing along the overlap of state routes ninety-six and eighty-nine\nto the intersections of state routes thirty-four and thirteen,\ncontinuing along the overlap of state routes thirty-four and thirteen in\nthe city of Ithaca northerly to the vicinity of the interchange of state\nroutes thirteen and thirty-four and state route thirty-four in the town\nof Ithaca, then northerly on state route thirty-four to its intersection\nwith state route thirty-four-B in the town of Lansing, then north\nnorthwesterly on state route thirty-four-B to its intersection with\nstate route ninety in the town of Genoa, Cayuga county, northerly on\nstate route ninety to its intersection with the overlap of state route\nfive and United States route twenty in the town of Montezuma, Cayuga\ncounty, and then west on overlapping state route five and United States\nroute twenty to the intersection of state route eighty-nine in the town\nof Tyre, Seneca county;\n (j-5) Southern Adirondack Trail as designated by section three hundred\nforty-three-gg of this chapter;\n (j-6) North Fork Trail byway which shall consist of all that portion\nof the state highway system known as state route twenty-five in the town\nof Southold, Suffolk county, beginning at the boundary between the town\nof Riverhead and the town of Southold, continuing northeasterly to\nOrient Point and to the end of state route twenty-five, and all that\nportion of the local highway system known as Sound avenue beginning at\nthe boundary between the town of Riverhead and the town of Southold\ncontinuing easterly to the overlap of Sound avenue and county route\nforty-eight and continuing along county route forty-eight generally\nnortheasterly to the intersection of county route forty-eight and state\nroute twenty-five north of the village of Greenport, Suffolk county;\n (j-7) Mohawk Towpath byway which shall consist of all that portion of\nthe highway system beginning at the intersection of state route\nthirty-two on Broad street and Eighth street in the village of\nWaterford, Saratoga county, continuing southerly along state route\nthirty-two to the intersection of New Courtland street in the city of\nCohoes, Albany county, continuing northwesterly along New Courtland\nstreet and then along North Mohawk street and then along Cohoes Crescent\nroad to the intersection of United States route nine in the town of\nColonie, and then northerly along United States route nine to the\nintersection of Crescent-Vischer Ferry road, continuing westerly along\nCrescent-Vischer Ferry road to the intersection of Canal road in the\ntown of Halfmoon, southwesterly along Canal road to the intersection of\nClamsteam road, northerly along Clamsteam road to the intersection of\nRiverview road, westerly along Riverview road to the intersection of\nstate route one hundred forty-six in the hamlet of Rexford, town of\nClifton Park, and continuing southerly along state route one hundred\nforty-six to the intersection of Aqueduct road in the town of Niskayuna,\nSchenectady county, and continuing southwesterly along Aqueduct road to\nand then onto Maxon road in the city of Schenectady and then\nsouthwesterly along Maxon road to the intersection of Erie boulevard,\ncontinuing southerly to the intersection of state route five (State\nstreet) in the city of Schenectady and all that portion of the highway\nsystem beginning at the intersection of United States route nine and\nCrescent-Vischer Ferry road proceeding northerly along United States\nroute nine to the intersection of United States route nine and county\nroute ninety-nine (Church Hill road) in the hamlet of Crescent, town of\nHalfmoon, Saratoga county, and continuing along county route ninety-nine\nto the intersection of county route ninety-four and easterly along\ncounty route ninety-four to the intersection of county route ninety-six,\ncontinuing southeasterly along county route ninety-six to the\nintersection of county route ninety-seven, town of Waterford, continuing\nsouth and southeasterly along county route ninety-seven and then along\nWashington avenue, village of Waterford, to the intersection of Eighth\nstreet, and continuing southerly along Eighth street to the intersection\nof state route thirty-two (Broad street);\n (j-8) Route twenty byway which shall consist of all that portion of\nthe highway system beginning at the intersection of United States route\ntwenty and interstate route eighty-eight in the town of Duanesburg,\nSchenectady county, continuing westerly along United States route twenty\nand terminating at the intersection of United States route twenty and\ninterstate route eighty-one in the town of Lafayette, Onondaga county,\nand all that portion of county route fifty-four from its intersection\nwith United States route twenty in the town of Cherry Valley and\ncontinuing westerly along county route fifty-four to its intersection\nwith United States route twenty in the vicinity of East Springfield.\n (j-9) Shawangunk mountains scenic byway which shall consist of all\nthat portion of the highway system beginning at the intersection of\nstate route two hundred ninety-nine and exit eighteen of the New York\nstate thruway in the town of New Paltz, Ulster county, continuing\nwesterly along state route two hundred ninety-nine to its junction with\nthe overlap of United States route forty-four and state route\nfifty-five, in the town of Gardiner, Ulster county, continuing westerly\nalong the United States route forty-four and state route fifty-five\noverlap to the intersection of United States route two hundred nine and\nthen southerly along the overlap United States route two hundred nine\nand state route fifty-five to the intersection with state route\nfifty-two in the village of Ellenville, Ulster county, and then\ngenerally southeasterly along state route fifty-two to the intersection\nwith state route three hundred two in Pine Bush and continuing southerly\nalong state route three hundred two to the junction of state route\nseventeen-K, and continuing easterly along state route fifty-two from\nthe intersection of state route three hundred two and route fifty-two in\nPine Bush to the intersection of the overlap Orange county route\nfourteen and Ulster county route nine, then northerly along Orange\ncounty route fourteen and Ulster county route nine to the intersection\nwith Ulster county route eighteen, then generally easterly on county\nroute eighteen into the hamlet of Wallkill, where it meets with state\nroute two hundred eight and continuing in a generally northerly\ndirection along state route two hundred eight to the intersection of\nstate route two hundred eight and state route two hundred ninety-nine in\nthe village of New Paltz, and continuing from the junction of state\nroute two hundred ninety-nine and Ulster county route seven continuing\nnortherly along Ulster county route seven to its junction with state\nroute two hundred thirteen then generally westerly along state route two\nhundred thirteen to the intersection of Ulster county route one then\ngenerally southwesterly along Ulster county route one to the junction\nwith United States route two hundred nine and along United States route\ntwo hundred nine to the intersection of two hundred nine and United\nStates route forty-four and state route fifty-five in Kerhonkson. The\nalternate route of the Shawangunk mountains scenic byway shall consist\nof all that portion of the highway system beginning at the intersection\nof state route two hundred ninety-nine and overlapping United States\nroute forty-four and state route fifty-five, continuing south and east\nalong overlapping United States route forty-four and state route\nfifty-five to the intersection with state route two hundred eight in\nIreland Corners, all in the town of Gardiner, Ulster county.\n (j-10) The Western New York Southtowns scenic byway which shall\nconsist of all that portion of the highway system beginning at the\nintersection of state route four hundred and United States route\ntwenty-A (Quaker road) in the village of East Aurora, town of Aurora,\nErie county, westerly along United States route twenty-A to the Big Tree\nroad and United States route twenty-A interchange with United States\nroute two hundred nineteen in the town of Orchard Park, Erie county,\nthen continuing southerly along United States route two hundred\nnineteen, through the towns of Boston and Concord and the village of\nSpringville, Erie county, and the town of Ashford, Cattaraugus county,\nto the intersection with state route two hundred forty-two in the town\nof Ellicottville, Cattaraugus county, then continuing westerly along\nUnited States route two hundred nineteen and state route two hundred\nforty-two to the village of Ellicottville, then continuing southerly on\nUnited States route two hundred nineteen to the town of Ellicottville\ntown line, which shall be the terminus of this portion of the byway;\nsuch byway shall also include all that portion of the highway system\nbeginning at the intersection of United States route two hundred\nnineteen and state route two hundred forty-two in the town of\nEllicottville, Cattaraugus county, northeasterly along state route two\nhundred forty-two to the intersection with state route two hundred forty\nin the town of Ellicottville, then northerly along state route two\nhundred forty, through the towns of Ashford and Ellicottville,\nCattaragus county and the towns of Concord and Colden, Erie county, to\nthe intersection with county road forty-seven (Mill road) in the town of\nAurora, then northeasterly along county road forty-seven, reconnecting\nwith United States route twenty-A in the town of Aurora, and an\nalternate route beginning at the state road one hundred seventy-nine\n(Mile Strip road) intersection with state road two hundred seventy-seven\n(Chestnut Ridge road, Boston Ridge road) in the town of Orchard Park,\nsoutherly along state road two hundred seventy-seven to the intersection\nwith state road three hundred ninety-one and Boston State road,\ncontinuing southerly along the Boston State road through the town of\nBoston, continuing southerly along the Springville Boston road through\nthe town of Concord, then continuing southerly on Buffalo street in the\nvillage of Springville where it reconnects with state route thirty-nine,\nand that portion of state route thirty-nine in the village of\nSpringville between United States route two hundred nineteen and state\nroute two hundred forty.\n (j-11) The Seneca Lake scenic byway which shall consist of all that\nportion of the highway system beginning at the intersection of state\nroute four hundred fourteen and Cass Road in the town of Hector,\nSchuyler county, northerly along state route four hundred fourteen to\nthe intersection with Ovid Townline Road in the village of Lodi, Seneca\ncounty.\n * (j-12) Maple Traditions Scenic Byway which shall consist of all that\nportion of the highway system beginning at the intersection of state\nroute eight hundred twelve, state route twelve and state route\ntwenty-six in the Village of Lowville, Lewis County continuing\nnorthwesterly on state route eight hundred twelve/twenty-six overlap\nthen continuing northerly on state route eight hundred twelve to the\nintersection with state route three, and then continuing northeasterly\non state route three/eight hundred twelve overlap, and then continuing\nnortherly on state route eight hundred twelve to the intersection of\nstate route fifty-eight and eight hundred twelve, continuing\nnorthwesterly along the state route fifty-eight/eight hundred twelve\noverlap to the intersection of United States route eleven, state route\neight hundred twelve and county route seventy-eight in the Village of\nGouverneur, St. Lawrence County, and then northeasterly along United\nStates route eleven/state route eight hundred twelve/county route\nseventy-eight overlap and then continuing on United States route eleven\nthrough the Village of DeKalb Junction to the intersection of United\nStates route eleven and state route sixty-eight in the Village of\nCanton, St. Lawrence County. The alternate route of the Maple Traditions\nScenic Byway shall consist of all that portion of highway beginning at\nthe intersection of United States route eleven and state route\nsixty-eight in the Village of Canton, St. Lawrence County, continuing\nnorthwesterly on state route sixty-eight to the intersection of state\nroutes sixty-eight, eight hundred twelve and thirty-seven, continuing\nsouthwesterly on the state routes eight hundred twelve/thirty-seven\noverlap, continuing south along state route eight hundred twelve to the\nintersection of United States route eleven and state route eight hundred\ntwelve.\n * NB There are 2 par (j-12)'s\n * (j-12) Mountain Cloves scenic byway which shall consist of all that\nportion of the state highway system known as state route twenty-three-a\nin the town of Hunter, Greene County, beginning at the boundary between\nthe town of Jewett and the town of Hunter, continuing easterly to the\neastern boundary of the town of Hunter and the Town of Catskill; and all\nthat portion of the state highway system known as state route two\nhundred fourteen in the town of Hunter, Greene county, beginning at the\nboundary of the town of Hunter and the town of Shandaken, continuing\nnortherly to its terminus at state route twenty-three-a; and all that\nportion of the local highway system known as county route eighteen in\nthe town of Hunter, Greene county, beginning at the intersection of\ncounty route eighteen and state route twenty-three-a, continuing\neasterly to its terminus at the NYSDEC North-South Lake Campgrounds; and\nall that portion of the local highway system known as county route\nsixteen beginning at the intersection of county route sixteen and state\nroute twenty-three-a and continuing southeasterly on county route\nsixteen and continuing on Platte Clove Road until the eastern boundary\nof the town of Hunter, Greene county and the town of Saugerties, Ulster\ncounty; and all that portion of the local highway system known as county\nroute twenty-five in the town of Hunter, Greene county, beginning at the\nintersection of county route twenty-five and state route twenty-three-a,\ncontinuing northerly to its terminus at county route twenty-three-c; and\nall that portion of the local highway system known as county route\ntwenty-three-c in the town of Hunter, Greene county, beginning at the\nintersection with county route twenty-five and continuing southerly to\nits terminus at state route twenty-three-a.\n * NB There are 2 par (j-12)'s\n (j-13) Catskill Mountains scenic byway which shall consist of all that\nportion of the highway system beginning at the eastern border of the\ntown of Olive, Ulster county on state route twenty-eight, continuing\nwesterly on state route twenty-eight to its western terminus at the\nintersection of Main street in the hamlet of Andes, Delaware county; and\nall that portion of the highway system beginning at the intersection of\nstate route twenty-eight and state route forty-two in the hamlet of\nShandaken, Ulster county, northwesterly along state route forty-two and\nterminating at the Ulster/Greene county line; and all the portion of the\nhighway system beginning at the intersection of state route twenty-eight\nand state route two hundred fourteen in the hamlet of Phonicia, Ulster\ncounty, northeasterly along state route two hundred fourteen and\nterminating at the Ulster/Greene county line.\n (j-14) Durham Valley scenic byway, which shall consist of all that\nportion of the local highway system beginning at the intersection of\nCornwallville Road and county road twenty in the town of Durham, Greene\nCounty, continuing southerly and southeasterly on Cornwallville Road to\nthe intersection with state route twenty-three; and all that portion of\nthe local highway system beginning at the intersection of county road\ntwenty and county road twenty-b in the town of Durham, Greene County,\ncontinuing westerly and northwesterly on county road twenty to the\nDurham/Conesville town border; and all that portion of the local highway\nsystem known as Sutton Road in the town of Durham, Greene County,\nbeginning at the intersection of Sutton Road and county road twenty\ncontinuing westerly to the intersection of Sutton Road and Cunningham\nRoad; and all that portion of the local highway system known as\nCunningham Road in the town of Durham, Greene County, beginning at the\nintersection of Cunningham Road and Sutton Road and continuing\nsouthwesterly to the intersection with county road ten; and all that\nportion of the local highway system known as county road ten in the town\nof Windham and Durham, Greene County, beginning at the intersection of\nCunningham Road continuing northwesterly to county road twenty; and all\nthat portion of the local highway system known as Stonebridge Road in\nthe town of Durham, Greene County, beginning at the intersection of\nStonebridge Road and Shady Glen Road continuing westerly to the\nintersection of Stonebridge Road with county road twenty; and all that\nportion of the local highway system known as Cochrane Road in the town\nof Durham, Greene County, beginning at the intersection of county road\ntwenty continuing westerly to the intersection of county road twenty;\nand all that portion of the local highway system known as Prink Hill\nLane in the town of Durham, Greene County, beginning at the intersection\nof Cochrane Road continuing northerly to the intersection of county road\ntwenty.\n (k) highways designated as scenic roads pursuant to article forty-nine\nof the environmental conservation law;\n (l) parkways as listed in the regulations of the commissioner of the\noffice of parks, recreation and historic preservation pursuant to\nsection 13.03 of the parks, recreation and historic preservation law and\nsimilar highways operated and maintained by other state agencies.\n 2. As part of its reports to the governor and the legislature, the\nscenic byways advisory board shall recommend amendments to this article\nadding, deleting or modifying components of the New York state scenic\nbyways system.\n
