§ 818 — Venue

§ 818. Venue. Proceedings under this article may be originated in the\ncounty in which the act or acts referred to in the petition allegedly\noccurred or in which the family or household resides or in which any\nparty resides. For the purposes of this section, residence shall include\nany residential program for victims of domestic violence, as defined in\nsubdivision four of section four hundred fifty-nine-a of the social\nservices law, or facility which provides shelter to homeless persons or\nfamilies on an emergency or temporary basis.\n
