§ 27-2117. Phase-out of mercury-added components in motor vehicles.\n 1. Commencing with the motor vehicle model year for the fourth year\nafter the calendar year in which this subdivision takes effect, no\nmanufacturer shall equip any motor vehicle sold in this state with any\nmercury-added component.\n 2. Notwithstanding the provisions of subdivision one of this section,\na motor vehicle may be equipped with a mercury-added component which is\nnecessary to comply with federal or state safety or health requirements,\nor for the purposes of national security, provided that the manufacturer\napplies for and receives an exemption from the commissioner.\n 3. If granted an exemption, every motor vehicle that is equipped with\na mercury-added component shall be labeled by the manufacturer as
