§ 280-l. Administration of the county district. When a county district\nshall have been established, the governing body shall appoint, designate\nor establish an officer, board or body as the administrative head or\nbody of the district. All matters relating to the membership of such\nadministrative head or body, including but not limited to, numbers,\nmethod of selection, tenure, qualifications and compensation, shall be\ndetermined by the governing body. A member of the governing body or any\nother county officer or official may be appointed as administrative head\nor as a member of the administrative body provided that he shall receive\nno additional salary or compensation for such services. The\nadministrative head or body of one or more county districts shall be\nconsidered to be the administrative head or body of an administrative\nunit of county government. The title of such administrative head or\nbody, if such functions are not conferred on an existing officer or\nbody, and the name of such administrative unit, if the county district\nis made a separate administrative unit of county government, shall be\nprescribed by the governing body, and such officer or body shall have\nall the powers generally conferred on heads of administrative units by\nthis chapter, not inconsistent with the provisions of this article, and\nshall be subject to all of the duties imposed upon such heads by this\nchapter, not inconsistent with the provisions of this article.\n
