Children may be placed in suitable foster homes or other child caring facilities in adjoining states when prior notification to the Compact Administrator is not practicable, provided that the sending agency has received from the Compact Administrators of the receiving and sending states prior written approval of the specific facilities to be used for the placement. The approval shall be reviewed at least annually by the Compact Administrators. No later than 10 days following these placements, the sending agency shall make appropriate notification in writing to the Compact Administrator in the receiving state who shall acknowledge receipt of the notification in writing and indicate whether or not the placement is contrary to the interests of the child.
