§ 52:27BB-56 — Determination by the board: Notice and hearing
New Jersey·Title 52 STATE GOVERNMENT, DEPARTMENTS AND OFFICERS
If the director finds in the course of his duties that any of the conditions listed in section 55 of this act exists in a municipality not subject to supervision under sections 52:27-1 to 52:27-66, inclusive, of the Revised Statutes, he shall forthwith give notice to the governing body that the question of the application of this article to that municipality will be placed before the board for its determination at a time and place which shall be stated in the notice. The board, at the time and place stated in the notice, shall give the local governing body and any other interested parties an opportunity to be heard. If the board finds, after hearing, that any of the conditions listed in section 55 of this act exists in the municipality, it may by resolution determine that the municipality
