§ 43:9A-5 — County to provide for pension; reimbursement by municipality
New Jersey·Title 43 PENSIONS AND RETIREMENT AND UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION
Provision for all pensions arising under this act shall be made in the appropriation or tax levy of the county in which such person is employed at the time of retirement; provided, however, that the county so paying such pension shall be entitled to reimbursement by the municipality in which such person was previously employed in proportion to the years of service for which prior service credit has been allowed. The treasurer of the county shall annually ascertain the proportionate share due on account of such pension from each municipality in which such person was previously employed, and shall submit to such municipality a statement of the amount necessary to be appropriated by the municipality for payment of such proportionate share.
