No such surviving spouse shall be eligible for any benefit hereunder who was or shall be more than fifteen years younger than the employee at the time of their marriage, if such marriage occurs hereafter. The foregoing provision for payment of a pension to the widow of such clerk or deputy clerk shall become effective provided such clerk or deputy clerk shall pay to the county treasurer a sum equal to two per centum (2%) of the amount of his salary from the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty-five, to the date of the approval of this act; and an additional sum of two per centum (2%) of the amount of his salary in addition to three per centum (3%) provided for in section six of the act of which this act is amendatory in the same manner as is provided for the payments to be made by virtue of such section six.
