Every distributor of milk in New Jersey, as defined above, shall make available to the Department of Agriculture or its duly authorized agents all books of account, vouchers and other pertinent records as are deemed necessary for the completion of such examination and study, and the Department of Agriculture or its authorized agents shall have the power to subpoena witnesses, compel the production of books and papers by its subpoena, administer oaths and do all things necessary and proper to effectuate the purpose of this act. Information relative to the general business of a distributor disclosed by such examination and not relating to the immediate purpose thereof shall be deemed and treated by the department and its authorized agents as of a confidential nature.
