Service shall be made on the owner or owners, person or persons or any of them, owning the place or operating the business wherein the offense is committed, if he or they reside in the county where such offense is committed; and if he or they do not reside therein, then on the superintendent, foreman or person in charge of such business or place, or in case of a building, upon the agent in charge of the building, or if there be no such agent, by affixing a copy thereof to the main outer door of such building. If a corporation commits an offense and no officer or director thereof resides in the county where such offense is committed, service may be made upon the superintendent, foreman or person in charge of the business or place where the offense was committed.
