11A:5-13. World War soldiers in employment of a county, municipality or school district; promotion. A soldier who served in the Army of the United States during the war between the United States and Germany, who holds the French Medaille Militaire, the Croix de Guerre with Palm, Croix de Guerre with Silver Star, Croix de Guerre with Bronze Star and who was on March 26, 1926, employed by any county, municipality or school district operating under the provisions of this title shall be eligible for promotion without complying with any of the rules or regulations of the Civil Service Commission. The head, or person in charge of the office in which the person is employed, may promote such employee for the good of the service as may in his judgment seem proper. Amended 2008, c.29, s.48.
