Subdivision 1.Background studies required. The commissioner of human services shall conduct background studies of individuals specified in section245C.03, subdivision 5c, affiliated with:

(1)a facility or program licensed or seeking a license under chapter 142B;
(2)a license-exempt child care center certified under chapter 142C; or
(3)a legal nonlicensed child care provider authorized under chapter 142E. Subd. 2.Responsibilities of commissioner of human services.
(a)The commissioner of human services shall conduct the background studies required by subdivision 1 in compliance with the provisions of chapter 245C.
