Text

Lack of belief in a supreme being or in the Christian religion does not render a witness incompetent. However, lack of religious belief may be shown upon the trial. In all questions affecting the credibility of a witness, the general moral character of the witness may be given in evidence. [Pre-1998 Recodification Citation: 34-1-14-13.]
