Text
(a)This section does not apply to a law
enforcement officer who is presented with a consular identification
during the investigation of a crime.
(b)Except as otherwise provided under federal law, a person who
knowingly or intentionally offers, accepts, or records a consular
identification as a valid form of identification for any purpose commits
a Class C infraction. However, the person commits:
(1)a Class B infraction for a second offense; and
(2)a Class A infraction for a third or subsequent offense.
