§ 34-17-2-1 — Filing of information
Indiana·Title 34 CIVIL LAW AND PROCEDURE·Art. 17 CAUSES OF ACTION: INFORMATIONS·Ch. 2 Filing of Information and Summons
(a)An information described in IC 34-17-1-1
may be filed:
(1)by the prosecuting attorney in the circuit court, superior court,
or probate court of the proper county, upon the prosecuting
attorney's own relation, whenever the prosecuting attorney:
(A)determines it to be the prosecuting attorney's duty to do so;
or
(B)is directed by the court or other competent authority; or
(2)by any other person on the person's own relation, whenever
the person claims an interest in the office, franchise, or
corporation that is the subject of the information.
(b)The prosecuting attorney shall file an information in the circuit
court, superior court, or probate court of the county against the county
assessor or a township assessor under IC 34-17-1-1(2) if:
(1)the board of county commissioners adopts
