§ 16-10 — Definitions

As used in this Act: "Abortion" has the meaning given to that term in Section 1-10 of the Reproductive Health Act. "Coordinating organization" means a nonprofit entity in good standing in any state or jurisdiction in which the organization is registered or incorporated that has demonstrated experience in coordinating or providing abortion care training programs at community-based and hospital-based provider sites. "Department" means the Department of Public Health. "Fund" means the Abortion Care Clinical Training Program Fund. "Health care professional" has the meaning given to that term in Section 1-10 of the Reproductive Health Act. "Program" means the Abortion Care Clinical Training Program. "Reproductive health care" has the meaning given to that term in Section 1-10 of the Reproductive Health Act. "Transportation hub" means an area easily accessible by interstate or interregional transportation, including roadways, railways, buses, air travel, and public transportation. "Underserved community" means a community that lacks a sufficient number of health care providers or facilities to meet the demand for abortion care without waiting periods more than 3 days.
