§ 17-5-102 — Applicability of chapter

(a) This chapter applies to: (1) All Tennessee judges, including, but not limited to, appellate, trial, general sessions, probate, juvenile, and municipal judges, senior judges, claims commissioners, and all other judges sitting on or presiding over any court created by the general assembly or by the express or implied authority of the general assembly; (2) All persons for their conduct while sitting or presiding over any judicial proceeding, including, but not limited to, persons sitting by special appointment; and (3) Candidates for judicial office, as defined by the Code of Judicial Conduct, Rule 10 of the Rules of the Tennessee Supreme Court. (b) This chapter does not apply to administrative law judges. (c) This chapter regulates judicial behavior, not judicial decision-making.
