§ 59-102-120 — Cancellation of agency contract by student.

South Carolina·Title 59 EDUCATION·Ch. 102 ATHLETE AGENTS AND STUDENT ATHLETES
(A)A student athlete, or if the athlete is a minor, his parent or guardian may cancel an agency contract by giving notice of the cancellation to the athlete agent in a record within fourteen days after the contract is signed.
(B)The right to cancel an agency contract provided in subsection (A) may not be waived.
(C)If a student athlete, parent, or guardian cancels an agency contract, the student athlete, parent, or guardian is not required to pay consideration under the contract or to return consideration received from the athlete agent to induce the athlete to enter into the contract.

Comment Effect of Amendment 2018 Act No. 235, SECTION 1, in (A), inserted ", or if the athlete is a minor, his parent or guardian" following "A student athlete"; rewrote (B); and in (C), inserted ", parent, or guardian" in two places and substituted "induce the athlete" for "induce the student athlete".
