§ 45-69-1. Coastal hazards. 
For the purposes of coastal hazards, including sea level rise and coastal flooding,
            the state's twenty-one (21) coastal communities are authorized to adopt the coastal
            resources management council's (CRMC) coastal hazard application process applicable
            to a local overlay district bounded by the seven-foot  (7â€²) sea level rise, plus one
            hundred- year (100) recurrence coastal storm as specified by the CRMC's shoreline
            change special area management plan. This local overlay district shall be for the
            purposes of assessing coastal hazard risk of structures by applicants seeking local
            building permits.
