§ 45-48.1-2. Composition of board.
Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, the powers of the district shall be exercised by a board of three (3) members, each of whom shall be a resident of the district. These members shall be appointed by the town administrator of the town, subject to approval by the town council. The members shall be appointed and serve in office for terms of one, two (2), and three (3) years, respectively. Thereafter, the members shall be appointed for a term of three (3) years or, in the case of an appointment to fill a vacancy, for the unexpired term, and until his or her successor is appointed and qualified.
