§ 45-21-12. Statements as to prior service.
Under the rules and regulations that the retirement board adopts, each member who
            was an employee on or prior to the effective date of participation of the municipality
            by which the member is employed, and who became a member within the first year following
            that date, shall file a detailed statement of all service rendered by him or her as
            an employee prior to that date, whether the service is in an appointive or elective
            capacity, for which the employee claims credit, and of any other facts that the retirement
            board requires for the proper operation of the retirement system.
