§ 28-5.1-11. Law enforcement.

The attorney general, the department of corrections, and the Rhode Island justice commission shall stress to state and local law enforcement officials the necessity for nondiscrimination in the control of criminal behavior. These agencies shall develop and publish formal procedures for the investigation of citizen complaints of alleged abuses of authority by individual peace officers. Employment in all state law enforcement and correctional agencies and institutions shall be subject to the same affirmative action standards applied under this chapter to every state unit of government, in addition to applicabl
