§ 28-32-5. Disclosure and use of contents of reports.
(a) No report, or part of a copy of a report, shall be open to the public, nor shall any
            of its contents be disclosed in any manner, nor be permitted to become known, by any
            officer or employee of the state or other person having access to it, but the reports
            shall be used for state investigation, including investigations by the workers' compensation
            fraud unit pursuant to § 42-16.1-12, and statistics only, and those statistics shall in no way disclose the identity
            of the employer making the report.

(b) Any person who violates the provisions of this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punished by a fine of not more than one hundred dollars ($100) for each offense, and if the offender is an officer or employee of the state, he or she shall be dismissed from the office and shall be subsequently ineligible to hold an office under the state for a period of one year.
