§ 28-3-2. Production of certificate of age on demand by compliance inspector.

Whenever any truant officer or compliance inspector has reason to doubt that any child employed in any factory, mechanical, manufacturing, or business establishment has reached the age of sixteen (16) years, the compliance inspector shall demand of the child's employer that the employer shall furnish him or her within ten (10) days a certificate of age issued by the department of elementary and secondary education. If the employer refuses or fails to produce the certificate within ten (10) days, or in case the certificate does not show that the child has completed sixteen
