§ 27-54-2. Civil penalties.
In addition to the criminal penalties set forth in § 27-54-1, the attorney general or the director or the director's designee may bring a civil action against any person who engages in conduct constituting an offense under this chapter and, upon proof of that conduct by a preponderance of the evidence, the person shall be subject, for each violation, to a civil penalty not exceeding fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) or the amount of damages caused by that conduct, whichever is greater.
