§ 27-1-11. Visitation and examination of insurance companies.
The insurance commissioner shall, whenever requested by the governor, visit any insurance company incorporated in this state. The insurance commissioner shall have free access to its vaults and all of its books and papers, and shall, if the insurance commissioner deems it expedient, thoroughly inspect and examine all of the affairs of the company and make all inquiries as may in the commissioner's opinion be necessary to ascertain the condition of the company and its ability to fulfill all of its engagements, and whether it has complied with the provisions of law applicable to its transac
