§ 27-46-15. Severability.
If any clause, sentence, paragraph, section, or part of this chapter or the application
            of this chapter to any person or circumstances shall, for any reason, be adjudged
            by any court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, that judgment shall not affect,
            impair, or invalidate the remainder of this chapter, and the application of the chapter
            to other persons or circumstances, but shall be confined in its operation to the clause,
            sentence, paragraph, section, or part of it directly involved in the controversy in
            which the judgment shall have been rendered and to the person or circumstances involved.
