§ 27-3-41. Service of process.

No person licensed to act as a surplus line broker in the state shall place any risk with any unauthorized insurer unless that insurer has previously, in writing, appointed that broker as an agent for the acceptance of service of process, or unless the unauthorized insurer shall have designated a Rhode Island representative as an agent for the service of process, copies of which shall be filed with the insurance commissioner.
