§ 27-19-5.1. Cancellation of coverage by employers.
No employer shall cancel any contract of insurance provided for the benefit of his
            or her employee as provided for in this chapter without first allowing the employee
            the opportunity to continue the contract of insurance, with the employee paying an
            amount not to exceed the total contribution required of the employer and employee
            for the continuation of the protection while the employee is disabled and receiving
            benefits pursuant to the provision of the Workers' Compensation Act, chapters 29 —
            38 of title 28.
