(A)The state cosmetology and barber board shall issue a temporary pre-examination work permit to an individual who applies under section4713.20of the Revised Code for admission to an examination conducted under section4713.24of the Revised Code, if the individual satisfies all of the following conditions:

(1)Is seeking a practicing license or an instructor license;

(2)Has not previously failed an examination conducted under section4713.24of the Revised Code to determine the applicant's fitness to practice or instruct the branch of cosmetology for which the individual seeks a license;

(3)Pays to the board the applicable fee;

(4)Satisfies all other conditions established by rules adopted under section4713.08of the Revised Code.

(A) The state cosmetology and barber board shall issue a temporary pre-examination work permit to an individual who applies under section4713.20of the Revised Code for admission to an examination conducted under section4713.24of the Revised Code, if the individual satisfies all of the following conditions:

(1) Is seeking a practicing license or an instructor license;

(2) Has not previously failed an examination conducted under section4713.24of the Revised Code to determine the applicant's fitness to practice or instruct the branch of cosmetology for which the individual seeks a license;

(3) Pays to the board the applicable fee;

(4) Satisfies all other conditions established by rules adopted under section4713.08of the Revised Code.

(B) An individual issued a temporary pre-examination work permit may practice the branch of cosmetology for which the individual seeks a practicing license until the date the individual is scheduled to take an examination under section4713.24of the Revised Code. The individual shall practice under the supervision of an individual holding a current, valid license appropriate for the type of salon in which the permit holder practices.

(C) An individual issued a temporary pre-examination work permit may instruct the branch of cosmetology for which the individual seeks an instructor license for a period not to exceed one hundred twenty days.

(D) A temporary pre-examination work permit is renewable in accordance with rules adopted under section4713.08of the Revised Code.
