Text

The board of education of a school district may establish a teacher education loan program and may expend school funds for the program. The program shall be for the purpose of making loans to students who are residents of the school district or graduates of schools in the school district, who are enrolled in teacher preparation programs at institutions approved by the chancellor of higher education pursuant to section3333.048of the Revised Code, and who indicate an intent to teach in the school district providing the loan. The district board may forgive the obligation to repay any or all of the principal and interest on the loan if the borrower teaches in that school district.
