§ 137. Transportation policy. It is hereby declared to be the policy\nof this state to regulate transportation by motor carriers in such\nmanner as to recognize and preserve the inherent advantages of, and\nfoster sound economic conditions in such transportation and among such\ncarriers in the public interest; promote safe, adequate, economical and\nefficient service by motor carriers, and reasonable charges therefor,\nwithout unjust discriminations, undue preferences or advantages, and\nunfair or destructive competitive practices; improve the relations\nbetween, and coordinate transportation by and regulation of motor\ncarriers and other carriers.\n
